ACDOH reports the county’s first COVID-19 related death of 2021

BELMONT The Allegany County Department of Health (ACDOH) will pause COVID-19 rapid testing as it shifts its focus to COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
ACDOH is moving into COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the second dose, while still providing a first dose to those in phase 1-B.
ACDOH will hold a vaccine distribution clinic for essential workers in phase 1-B Friday at the County Office Building at 7 Court St. in Belmont. The link to register is posted on the www.alleganyco.com website. The county has under 100 appointment slots available and advised residents who do not get in this round to be patient.

Allegany County added 37 new COVID-19 cases, 32 recoveries Friday

BELMONT Allegany County added 37 new COVID-19 cases Friday for a total of 1,554 to date, the Allegany Department of Health (ACDOH) said.
The county also recorded 32 new recoveries, with 1,322 recoveries to date. The number of residents in isolation/quarantine dropped from 885 Thursday to 824 on Friday.
The ACDOH will hold drive-up rapid testing for county residents Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the Scio Central School bus garage from 9 a.m. to noon. The pre-registration deadline is Tuesday at noon.
