New Delhi, Mar 17: A baby girl was born on board IndiGo s Bengaluru-Jaipur flight mid-air on Wednesday morning with the help of cabin crew and a doctor, according to an airline statement. A baby girl was born mid-air on board flight 6E 469 from Bangalore to Jaipur. The baby was delivered with the help of the IndiGo crew, effectively assisted by Dr. Subahana Nazir, travelling with us on the same flight, the airline s statement noted.
Jaipur airport was immediately informed to arrange for a doctor and an ambulance on arrival, it said. Both the baby and mother are stable, it mentioned. The flight departed from Bengaluru around 5.45 AM and landed in Jaipur around 8 AM on Wednesday.
Former Union Minister and BJP leader, Dilip Gandhi dies of Covid-19

Ahmednagar, Mar 17: Former Union Minister and BJP leader, Dilip Gandhi passed away at a private hospital in Delhi.He was 69.
Gandhi had tested positive for COVID19 and was under treatment for multiple ailments, the sources said.
Born on 9 May 1951, Dilipkumar Mansukhlal Gandhi was an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) political party. He was a ex member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India.
Gandhi began his political career by holding key positions in the district organisation of BJP such as General Secretary, Joint Secretary and President. He was elected to the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation as a Councilor and later he became the Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Municipal Council.
Amarinder to meet Navjot Singh Sidhu over lunch today; sets rumour mills rolling ahead of Punjab 2022 polls

Chandigarh, Mar 17: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh is expected to meet former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu over lunch on Wednesday, amid speculations that the cricketer-turned-politician might be given an important role ahead of the 2022 state polls, official sources said.
This will be the second luncheon meeting between the leaders. The first such meeting had taken place in November last year, seen as the first step to break the ice between the two sides.
Singh had then said that he and Sidhu would continue to have cordial meetings.
Noida airport: UP cabinet OKs 1,365 hectare land for second phase of upcoming Jewar airport

Noida (UP), Mar 17: The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a proposal for acquisition of another 1,365 hectare land in Jewar for the second phase of the upcoming Noida International Airport, according to an official statement.
The cabinet also approved an expenditure of Rs 2,890 crore for the land acquisition, besides resettlement and rehabilitation of the people who will be affected by the expansion of the greenfield project, it stated.
The decision was taken by the cabinet at a meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday evening.
Karnataka sex CD scandal: Accused woman’s dad files kidnap complaint

Bengaluru, Mar 17: In a new twist, the parents of the woman allegedly involved in the sex for job CD scandal that resulted in the resignation of BJP minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, has lodged a complaint with the Belagavi police alleging that their daughter had been kidnapped from Bengaluru.
The father further claimed that his 25-year-old daughter had been kidnapped on March 2 itself.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Vikram Apte told reporters that a complaint of kidnap of daughter was filed by her father on Tuesday.
