Glass ceiling-breaking mentorship program, Assisterhood, is back for its fourth consecutive year in 2021. What started as an initiative to address gender imbalance in the communications industry, has now become a thriving community built on each others’ success.
Assisterhood 2021 recently launched with a successful panel and speed mentoring event, held at max capacity at Publicis Worldwide. Here, Assisterhood introduced a number of new mentors and gave potential mentees valuable face time with what could be their perfect mentoring match.
On offer this year are coveted mentorships with some of Queensland’s most experienced leaders. The 2021 program boasts 22 talented mentors across creative, strategy, marketing, production, media, and digital backgrounds, set to help mentees navigate their careers.

READERS of the News & Star had their say after it was revealed that 100,000 jobs could be lost if the UK could not secure a trade deal with the EU. Pete Moran, head of Cumbria Law Centre in Carlisle, told the News & Star that the jobs market was already precarious during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Government’s failure to secure a trade deal with the EU could add fuel to the fire. Mr Moran said: “The predictions we’ve seen are all very serious. “We’ve had one major shock this year and that goes on. “When you start to layer economic shocks on top of each other that proves too much for a lot of businesses.”
