Grief and grievance: how artists respond to racial violence in America Nadja Sayej
At a time when black Americans are twice as likely to die of Covid-19 as their white counterparts while a reckoning continues over ongoing police brutality, a new group exhibition is opening to tell the story of black grief in America, from the 1960s to present day.
Grief and Grievance: Art and Mourning in America opens 17 February at the New Museum in New York City, featuring 37 artists whose work ties into loss linked to racial violence – including artworks by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Carrie Mae Weems, among others.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY The votes are in, and the High Line has announced a shortlist of a dozen sculptures that are being considered for the elevated park s next major art installations.
Two winners will be selected from the 12 finalists. They will be installed in 2022 and 2024, respectively, on the Plinth a rotating public art space on 30th Street, along the High Line s newest section near Hudson Yards.
Premier Inn to install EV chargers at 300 hotels
Whitbread-owned hotel chain Premier Inn is set to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers at some 300 of its locations, in what it s calling the biggest roll-out of its kind in the UK hospitality sector.

The company has partnered with energy major ENGIE UK & Ireland and its charging point provider GeniePoint to install and power the chargers. It is targeting 600 charging points within the next three years, with the option to add up to 400 more in the longer-term.
ENGIE UK & Ireland, which is installing the chargers and has electricity tariff contracts with Premier Inn, claims that the chargers will enable the average electric car to charge within 30 minutes. They will be available to restaurant guests and members of the general public as well as hotel guests.

Whitbread Signs Deal for 600 GeniePoint Network Rapid Charging Points in UK
(27 Jan 2021) Whitbread has signed a deal with ENGIE to install up to a thousand GeniePoint Network rapid charging points in the UK.
Installations will begin with 600 committed over the next three years.
Whitbread, owner of brands including Premier Inn hotels and restaurants Beefeater and Brewers’ Fayre, has more car park locations in the UK than the NCP.
Access to the charging points will be for guests as well as members of the public using ENGIE’s GeniePoint Network and will ensure electric car owners can relax knowing there are even more
