KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has withdrawn its notice issued earlier regarding the provision of details of the Sindh government officials possessing domiciles of rural areas and posted in urban areas, especially in Karachi and Hyderabad.
On April 27, 2021, the NAB Karachi had directed the Sindh government to provide the details of employees from Grade 1 to Grade 22 working in all Sindh government departments, having rural domicile but posted in urban areas.
The NAB Karachi on May 18, 2021, has withdrawn its earlier direction through an formal letter addressed to the secretary Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&D).

People advised to offer Eid prayers in open grounds

Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has appealed to the public to offer the Eidul Fitr prayers in open grounds.
He gave the advice on Wednesday while talking to the media after visiting several parts of Karachi to inspect the sanitation arrangements made there ahead of the festival. He said that preferably two to three congregations of the Eidul Fitr prayers should be held at a single venue. He also advised the people to avoid embracing one another to exchange Eid greetings.
Shah said the residents of the urban parts of the province should not visit the rural areas, and likewise, those living in villages should not visit towns and cities on Eid.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has instructed the health department to vaccinate 100,000 people in the province every day. Capacity to administer 50,000 doses should be created at the Karachi Expo Centre, he directed at the meeting of the Sindh Coronavirus Task Force on Monday.
The minister ensured that vaccination centres across the province will remain open on Eid holidays. In the last 24 hours, 16 people died from the deadly virus in Sindh.
PPP, PTI call off public meetings due to rise in Covid cases

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have decided not to hold any public meeting in the NA-249 constituency of Karachi in connection with the upcoming by-election for the National Assembly seat.
The PPP had earlier announced that it would hold a big public meeting in the constituency on Monday (today). A statement issued on Sunday quoted Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah as saying that the public meeting had been called off on the direction of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
