Check-Out Your Garden Seeds – Sheridan Media

Cynthia Vannoy Its still not too late to plant a garden. Even though seeds are expensive, The Powder River Basin Resource Council and the Sheridan County Fulmer country library are together helping area gardeners grow healthy vegetables for their families. The Seed Library, sponsored by the PRBRC, has several seeds that any one can check out and plant, although they are not required to bring the excess back, it is appreciated. Jill Morrison, of the PRBRC, said that the Sheridan Seed Library is about 5 years old. “It used to be at the Extension service, but not as many people took advantage of the seeds, so we moved them into the library about three years ago. Last year, due to Covid, the seeds were put on a porch, so people could check them out without going into the library.”

Clearmont Blood Drive – Sheridan Media

Cynthia Vannoy The Wyoming Health Fairs of Casper held their annual blood draw at the Clearmont Community Center and Library on Saturday, April 24 from 7 to 9. The most popular screening was the Chemistry Panel, which checks the blood for 33 different factors, including cholesterol, Glucose, Magnesium, Calcium, and Potassium. This gives participants a look at what might be going on that a doctor might have to be informed about. Results could either be mailed or emailed, and could be sent to the patients doctor if desired. Other tests that can be done at the health fair include thyroid screenings, vitamin screenings, PSA and blood sugar. The tests are usually less expensive that the same tests at the hospital.

Clearmont Town Council – Sheridan Media

Land that the fire department wanted to purchase. Clearmont Town Council met Monday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m. at Town Hall with all council members present. Two guests, Stephen Dow from The Sheridan Press, and Cynthia Vannoy from Sheridan Media, were present as well.        Mayor Rohrer called the meeting to order and lead the pledge of allegiance.  He also thanked town clerk Amy Vineyard for decorating the town hall for Christmas, and provided a Christmas snack supper in lieu of the annual Christmas dinner, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 virus restrictions.        Discussion centered around the possible sale of land to the Clearmont Volunteer Fire Department.  The Fire Department wanted to purchase the land, which is the on the corner of  New York Ave and Front Street, where the old locker plant building used to stand.  According to Amy Vineyard, town clerk, the Fire Department talked of making that land into a parking lot to go with the shop they proposed on th
