Florida adds 1,976 coronavirus cases, 59 deaths Monday Romy Ellenbogen, Tampa Bay Times
Florida’s added 1,976 coronavirus cases Monday as the state’s average case count continued a three-week-long decline.
Since the pandemic began, 2,293,980 coronavirus infections have been recorded in Florida. An average of about 3,125 cases are announced per day, based on the weekly average. That figure has been declining since April 24.
About 53,000 tests were processed Sunday, resulting in a single-day positivity rate of 4.42 percent.
The Florida Department of Health also announced 59 deaths Monday, bringing the total number dead in Florida to 36,857. An average of 51 deaths are announced per day.
Vaccinations: As of Monday, about 9,608,397 people in Florida are vaccinated against coronavirus, an increase of 30,522 from the day prior. More than 7.5 million have received both doses and are fully immunized.
