Australia’s Sydney Metro has confirmed two new metro stations at Pyrmont and Hunter Street in the central business district (CBD).
The new stations are being added as part of the Sydney Metro West project.
With entrances on the corners of Bligh and O’Connell streets and Hunter and George streets, the new Hunter Street station will provide access to both light rail and suburban rail lines.
It will also enable the commuters to easily board Sydney Trains at Wynyard and Martin Place, as well as Sydney Metro at Martin Place, due to its strategic location.
Australian Federal Government to award $2 billion to highway upgrade May 10, 2021
CANBERRA, ACT, Australia – Topping the list for infrastructure funding by the Australian Federal Government announced on Monday is a contribution of more than $2 billion towards the Great Western Highway between Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, and Lithgow in the Central West.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison released the list, which outlines the various projects to receive funding in the 2021-22 Budget, on Monday.
“From upgrading the Great Western and Princes highways, to improving the key road connections in the outer suburbs and regional areas – these projects will support more than 6,500 direct and indirect jobs across New South Wales,” Prime Minister Morrison said Monday.

Australia’s Sydney Metro has shortlisted two companies for executing construction work on a new metro railway line under the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport project.
The new metro line will connect Greater Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.
The shortlisted firms for the contract of surface and civil alignment works are CPB Contractors and Acciona Construction Australia.
