Names of officers who shot man in Cedar City released Larry Joseph Lee Tessier is expected to survive and face criminal charges. | Updated: 5:08 a.m. A task force that serves Iron, Beaver, Garfield counties released more information Tuesday about a police shooting that happened on Valentine’s Day in Cedar City. The Iron/Beaver/Garfield Counties Critical Incident Task Force identified the four officers who shot at Larry Joseph Lee Tessier on Feb. 14 as Cpl. Zac Adams, Officer Orlas DeMasters, Officer Heather Daynes and Officer Tyrell Crofts, all with the Cedar City Police Department. They were placed on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.

2 found dead in Cedar City residence, police say

CEDAR CITY Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a Cedar City residence Wednesday. Around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a call reporting what seemed to be a dead body at 1790 W. Harding Avenue, according to the Cedar City Police Department. When officers arrived on the scene they found two people dead inside the residence, officials said. The officers secured the scene and homicide investigators responded. Police said that the investigation is active and ongoing. Further information, including the identities of the victims or the manner of their deaths, was not released. ×

Police: Man arrested after attempting to pawn stolen items, fleeing officers in Cedar City

CEDAR CITY A man was arrested Tuesday after police say he attempted to flee from law enforcement officers after trying to pawn property that was possibly stolen. Around 1:40 p.m., a report was made that a man was attempting to pawn what was thought to be stolen property at a local pawn shop, according to the Cedar City Police Sgt. Clint Pollock in a news release. The man left driving a vehicle with a stolen license plate, Pollock said, and was located by another officer at another pawn shop. The man refused the officer s commands and fled in a vehicle at a high rate of speed, according to the release. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but say the driver refused to stop.
