武漢肺炎（新型冠狀病毒病，COVID-19）疫情肆虐，疫苗覆蓋率已超過8成的新加坡，近日確診數仍持續增加，過去一天再新增1178人染疫，這也是去年疫情爆發以來第二高的單日確診數。綜合外媒報導，截至週一新加坡已有82%的人口已完整接種兩劑疫苗，至少接種一劑疫苗的也達到84%，新加坡8月中雖逐步鬆綁防疫措施，但後續確診數又不斷攀升，近期更有3天單日新增確診破千。當局憂心，若目前的感染情況持續擴大，到10月初單日確診恐上升至2千例。
