17 kg heroin worth Rs 90 crore recovered, 4 Afghan nationals held Chandigarh, July 5 (PTI) The Punjab police has busted a major drug racket with the arrest of four Afghan nationals in Delhi and seizure of 17 kg heroin that has a value of Rs 90 crore in the international market. Police have also recovered assorted chemicals and lab equipment, used to manufacture the drug, from the Neb Sarai unit, they said. With this, the police have dug up another trail, leading to Uttar Pradesh where a team has been sent to unravel the network, Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta said on Monday.

HOSHIARPUR: District Hoshiarpur police have apprehended three persons including a woman with a recovery of 1.6kg heroin, 580gm opium, 560gm gold, drug money Rs 50 lakh, a Swift car.
SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said that a police party intercepted a car near Tanda Chowk on Tuesday and on suspicion police party checked the pockets of a youth and found 45 gram heroin from one of his pockets and 25 gram & Rs. 50,000 from the pocket of another youth. The both have been identified as Pushpinder Singh alias Tinku of local Naraian Nagar and Amit Chaudhary of Bassi Khawaju locality. In their preliminary questioning they revealed that they were involved in drug peddling and they had procured the drugs from Jasvir Singh alias Gajju and his accomplice Jagroop Kaur.
