Unions have blamed the duo for provoking farmers on Republic Day, and said they are working for the BJP.

Singhu border:Â On January 25, at around 7 pm, when farmers’ union leaders were busy holding meetings in their tents before the tractor march, Punjabi actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu, the man at the centre of the controversy of hoisting the Nishan Sahib flag at Red Fort, started addressing the protestors at Singhu borderâs main stage.
After occupying the stage, Sidhu began his address, which was confined to Sikh religious history, the tractor march and the importance of Nishan Sahib amidst slogans of âBole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akalâ.
Under the control of the Badal family, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) staying in alliance with the Hindu extremist political party BJP that wants to snatch powers from the states of the Indian union, for 30 years has remained part of damaging and weakening the federal structure. After harming this structure for three decades, its leadership has now come out to save it.
Under the pressure of Punjab farmers who are its major vote bank, the SAD snapped 30-year old ties with the saffron party in the month of September over three farm laws enacted by the BJP-led union government of India. These laws were supported by it earlier.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the malicious and derogatory terms allegedly used by its senior leaders against protesting farmers.
Singh asked the BJP to stop maligning farmers and their genuine fight for justice by using offensive terms like urban Naxals, Khalistanis, hooligans etc .
