Suspect Arrested in Shooting Death of 7-Year-Old Chicago Girl

Eighteen-year-old Marion Lewis has been arrested and charged in connection to the April 18, 2021, shooting death of a seven-year-old Chicago girl.
Breitbart News noted the girl, Jaslyn Adams, was shot and killed while in a McDonald’s drive-thru with her father.
The
Daily Mailreports Lewis had been arrested and charged in connection Adams’ death and also faces “three counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault of a police officer.”
Chicago Police Department superintendent David Brown spoke to reporters but did not elaborate on the role Lewis might have played in the April 18 shooting.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) is calling for Chicago police to reform foot pursuit policy amid the unrest that followed a video release of an officer shooting a 13-year-old on March 29, 2021.
CBS News reported Lightfoot called for the reform on Thursday, the same day on which body cam video of the shooting was released.
The 13-year-old, named Adam Toledo, was shot by an officer about 2:30 a.m. following a foot chase after “reports of gun shots.”
Reuters noted the pursuing officer, Eric Stillman, allegedly ordered Toledo to stop then fired one shot, which proved fatal.
According to the
Chicago Sun-Times, the shootings began around 1 a.m. when two males–a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old–were shot while standing “in an alley in the 2400 block of West Grenshaw Street.”
The 23-year-old was shot in the side and the 25-year-old was shot in the back.
Just over an hour later an 18-year-old woman was shot in a drive-by shooting, and that incident was followed by a 33-year-old man being shot while sitting in a vehicle just after 3 a.m.
Shootings continued throughout the day, with the last one on Tuesday occurring at 11:50 p.m. ” in the 6200 block of South Troy Street.”
