Extreme Performance

The American horsepower war and the American pickup war have become one, so to speak.
Ram has answered Ford’s F-150 Raptor with the new 1500 TRX that features a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 that makes 702-hp and 650 pounds-feet of torque. Ram says the truck can go from
0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, cover the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph, and has a top speed of 118 mph. The TRX is designed with extreme capabilities and features a unique suspension designed
for high-speed off-road driving as well as wheels and tires also designed for that.

I took one look at the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer that I would be driving and thought I might have time-traveled back to the mid-1950s. The two-tone Oasis Blue think turquoise, and Black was quite striking.
This is not a bad thing. Chevrolet has loaded up the Trailblazer color palette with ten color choices plus the option of two-tone in black or white on select trims. A colleague in the auto media world applauded “I do love it when a brand is not afraid to paint their cars.”

Acura uses the term Precision Crafted Performance in describing its newest vehicles and the direction of the brand.
The 2021 Acura TLX continues the performance focus of Acura established with the launch of the second-generation NSX supercar, the brand’s return to motorsports competition, and by new approaches to Acura design and technology first seen in concept vehicles and in the newest-generation Acura RDX utility vehicle.
The 2021 TLX is entirely new, built on its own dedicated and all-new platform. It’s aimed at today’s sports sedan buyer. And yes, people still buy sedans….they make up about 25 to 30% of the market.

In late July 2019, Subaru of America introduced the all-new 2020 Outback, the sixth
generation of this utility vehicle (UV). Back then, on the invite of Subaru, I spent some
time behind the wheel of the new Outback driving both on the road and off-road trails
in California’s North Coast.
I drove paved roads sitting just 85 ft above the Pacific’s crashing waves and off-road
trails climbing a couple thousand feet into the surrounding hills through forests of
redwoods.
Recently I again had a driving experience with the Outback, this time around the
