The opportunity to experience driving a Rolls-Royce is indeed rare. Just about ten years ago I drove the new, back then, 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost. That was the first Goodwood Ghost.
The Ghost came about in response to a whole new generation of clients, both in age and attitude. The Ghost is a smaller, more approachable four-door saloon that moves beyond the older image of the flagship Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Now in early spring 2021 I am again finding myself about to sit behind the wheel and experience the completely new 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost. I would have a weekend to experience and enjoy luxury, refinement and the Rolls-Royce Magic Carpet Ride.

GMC’s full-size SUV, the Yukon, is extensively new for 2021. As part of the Yukon’s market roll-out the GMC team dropped a Yukon Denali at my doorstep for a 24-hour whirlwind evaluation.
Actually, 24-hours is plenty of time to do my job, drive a bunch of miles in different road conditions and get done what needs to be done. The GMC-provided video product walkaround and overview as well as the audio guided tour filled in all the details.
The Yukon is all about space and capability…lots of space for moving people and things, or for towing a trailer with something for work or play. The 2021 Yukon adds space with its nearly 5-inch-longer wheelbase and 6.1 inch increase in overall length over the 2020 model. Yukon now offers 41 percent more third-row legroom and 66 percent greater cargo volume behind the third row, now at 25.5cuft.

Kia pulled out all the stops for this replacement for its long-running Optima midsize sedan, adding performance and optional all-wheel drive. The Optima was a bellwether of Kia’s steady march from econo-brand to a design and value leader. The K5 continues that, generating interest in the sedan as SUVs surged to 65% of Kia’s total sales. K5 prices start at $23,495.

Back in the Spring in this year of the pandemic I drove Toyota’s 2020 RAV4. In closing out my review I wrote “a bit more excitement is coming in the form of the 302-horspeower Toyota RAV4 Prime, a 2021 model that will arrive in summer 2020. It’ll be the most powerful and quickest RAV4 ever while also being the most fuel-efficient.”
Well, it’s here and I just drove it.
Toyota says the RAV4 Prime can do 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds and says it’s the quickest four-door model in the Toyota lineup.
