1. Check out this foodie degustation dinner
A degustation dinner is taking place at folly by Nick & Scott and the event will see a collaboration between well-known Dubai chefs Nick & Scott and the chef at Berlin-based restaurant Prism, Gal Ben Moshe. Expect beautifully crafted dishes from both chefs at each course. There will also be a premium wine tasting at the dinner, with wine picked from boutique vineyards which is priced at Dhs850, all in.

This dramatic reading will be presented in partnership with KC MOliére: 400 in 2022 to help raise funds and awareness for the multi-year celebration of the seminal French playwright in anticipation of his 400th birthday in January of 2022.

Palm Jumeirah is soon set to welcome its very own McGettigan’s and (a Trader Vic’s too). Factory by McGettigan’s is the newest venue of the long-standing Irish bar chain opening at the Hilton hotel, slated to be in September 2021. It’s described as ‘the perfect mix of an intimate cocktail den and a social, comfortable, neighbourhood bar’.

This is a story about how I got my Portuguese name and learned about Portugal as a child.
It begins with my parents, who met in New York City, in 1943, during World War II. He basically picked her up one hot August day on a returning beach train. Each thought the other was attractive. The next day he called her at a boarding hotel, where it was then the fashion for young unmarried ladies to live. Two weeks later he proposed – a very short courtship – even by the standards of the day. And two months later they were to be married in the chapel at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
