Japanese shipping company K Line has taken delivery of LNG-fuelled car carrier, it said in a March 12 statement.
The carrier,
Century Highway Green, had been under construction at Tadotsu Shipyard, part of the Imabari Shipbuilding Group. The vessel uses a dual-fuel main engine and auxiliary engines capable of operating on either LNG or marine gas oil. The main engine uses a high-pressure type ME-GI engine, reducing emissions of methane slip (unburnt gas), which is a greenhouse gas.
