Police are responding to fatal crash in state’s central west
A teenager has died in a two-vehicle crash in the state’s central west this afternoon.
About 12.30pm (Friday 8 January 2021), emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Lachlan Valley Way, about 20km south of Cowra.
On arrival, officers attached to Chifley Police District and NSW Ambulance Paramedics were told a 4WD, with a caravan attached, and a sedan, had collided.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 18-year-old female driver of the sedan died at the scene.
Her 18-year-old male passenger was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police appeal to find man missing near Bathurst
Police are appealing for public assistance to help find a man missing in the state’s Central West.
Paul Martin, aged 54, left a home on Beaconsfield Road, O’Connell about 6am on Tuesday (22 December 2020).
When he failed to attend work or return home, officers from Chifley Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.
Concerns are held for his welfare as his disappearance is considered out of character.
Police have since received information that Paul was later seen leaving a motel on Peak Hill Road, Parkes about 8.40am yesterday (23 December 2020).
