The Daily Express ran a story announcing the sensational discovery that the Tower of Babel actually existed. According to statements made by Tom Meyer, a professor of Bible Studies at Shasta Bible College, there is archeological evidence to suggest that it actually existed and became a tourist destination in the ancient world.
According to Genesis 11, the postdiluvian inhabitants of the world decided to try and climb up to heaven by building an ancient tower or, you might say, skyscraper. They started with a city built in Shinar (or Babylon) and constructed the city using baked bricks and tar for mortar. Their goal was to make a name for themselves. God, however, who observed this architecturally audacious endeavor, was unimpressed. Rather than destroying the construction like a game of celestial Jenga, God identified human collaboration and unity as the real problem.
Naming Nebuchadnezzar the Second as the man who supposedly managed to complete the fabled tower, Meyer also pointed at an ancient stele that allegedly proves this feat.

A trove of tablets found in Turkey over a century ago revealed the chronology of the Hittite civilisation, which is mentioned a number of times in the Old Testament.
An archaeological discovery related to the ancient Hittite civilisation made in early 20th century sheds new light on the Bible as a historical document, the Sunday Express reports citing Tom Meyer, a professor of Bible studies at Shasta Bible College.
According to the newspaper, the discovery in question helped confirm the very existence of the Hittite civilisation which, despite being mentioned numerous times in the Old Testament, had a rather unsubstantial archaeological record.
