Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested for allegedly making criminal threats in two separate incidents on Saturday (April 24).
Around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, deputies were called to the 6600 block of Shasta Avenue in Joshua Tree after a report that a neighbor, identified as Amanda Lewallen, 29, was threatening to kill a resident in their home. According to sheriff logs, Lewallen was yelling at the residents and making death threats while holding a rake or broom. Following the incident, Amanda Lewallen was arrested for suspicion of making criminal threats and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.

One person is in serious condition following a shooting in northeast Columbus Sunday night.
Columbus police say they were called to the 3100 block of Shasta Avenue just after 8 p.m. on a report of a shooting.
The individual was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in serious condition.
There is currently no suspect information.
