The occupant of a home in Saskatoon’s Montgomery Place neighbourhood received minor burns after his garage caught on fire Saturday.
According to a release from the Saskatoon Fire Department, at around 12:30 p.m. firefighters received multiple 911 calls reporting a detached garage on fire on a property in the 1500 block of Lancaster Boulevard.

Crews were able to see heavy black smoke while en route to the fire, the department said. Upon arrival, the garage was completely on fire and threatening to spread to a neighbouring home. Nearby power lines had been downed.
