Synopsis
This data, health ministry officials said, does not include stocks being held by private hospitals but covers doses for both 18-44 and 45-plus age categories. The Centre has asked states with high stocks still in reserve to scale up their effort and administer these doses at the earliest.

According to CoWIN data, 7,324,352 doses were administered in the 18-44 age group between May 16 and May 25 compared to 6,108,696 in the 45-plus category.
States were holding additional stocks of 17.75 million vaccine doses as per updates available with the Centre on Wednesday. Of these, six states – Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh – had at least a million-plus doses in their respective stocks.
Synopsis
Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh are among the states which have rescheduled appointments for the first time vaccine beneficiaries. This exercise first entails calculating how many second doses are due in each district and then allocating the vaccines.

Some states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala have increased the second dose share to 80% or more given the large numbers involved. Some have stopped walk-in appointments for the 45-plus age group.
Most states have started to cancel and reschedule appointments for the first vaccination dose this week so as to prioritise those due for the second jab in 45-plus age group. This is in line with the Centre’s protocol that 70% of its vaccine supplies must be used for completing the second dose.
