Community First Credit Union earlier this year named local woman Lara Stilin as its youngest ever Chief Financial Officer. Effective Jan. 18, Stilin, 32, moved into the CFO role. Your Neighbourhood Credit Union (YNCU), Community Firstâs parent organization, said in a media release on March 8 the position will allow Stilin to âbe a strong role model for women in the organization, as well in the communities YNCU serves across the province.â âI truly respect and support this mission of YNCU/Community First,â Stilin told Sault This Week. âIâm thrilled to be part of it in any capacity. In terms of being the youngest CFO, Iâm pleased to see more diversity in executive teams. I think it helps when we see examples of ourselves in leadership roles. It helps have the confidence to pursue them.â

Eight years after being purchased by Brad Gregorini, Norpro Security has rebranded and evolved, now going by N1 Solutions Inc. The change was made to better reflect the company’s diverse services that it now offers in technology, IT, professional advising, and – of course – security. “In our security division we offer screeners, guards (static and industrial), patrol services, and loss prevention,” Jessica Tett, manager of corporate communications, told Sault This Week. “For technology, we offer security cameras, access control, cable management, and terminals such as point of sales. Our IT division focuses on server management, cybersecurity, and cloud migration, and our strategy division is focused on business development, professional advisory services, project management, and back office support.”

Ten years after receiving a kidney transplant, Cody McClelland encourages Algoma residents to get involved in Kidney Foundation’s #SixDegreeChallenge to raise awareness of kidney disease. The Kidney Foundation recognizes March as Kidney Health Month, and runs the #SixDegreeChallenge on social media, inviting Ontarians to participate by posting a picture of themselves holding up six fingers, sharing their connection to kidney disease, and tagging six friends to nominate them to do the same.
