Under-inflated tyres and road accidents April 23, 2021 During 2019-20, according to the Bureau of Statistics, a total of 9701 traffic accidents happened on 320,000 kilometers of High Type and Low Type roads of Pakistan. These unwanted road crashes transported 5436 lives to the valley of death and left 12317 injured. As per data of the Punjab Emergency Service, the number of Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) is experiencing downtrends from the previous years, which is a clear proof of the good performance of the government officials and licensed drivers in the country. It is sought that a major portion of these accidents is caused by the underinflated tyres. Careful estimations establish that thirty-eight percent of the vehicles in Pakistan are on the go with at least one tyre underinflated by twenty-five percent. According to the British Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (BTMA), the comparative number of vehicles in UK with at least one underinflated tyre is twenty-five percent. That is
