Second driver caught with altered plates
A second driver in as many days has been detected driving with altered plates in the northern suburbs.
Northern District Police were conducting a driver testing station on Main North Road at Salisbury Heights overnight, when they directed a Nissan sedan into the site just before 12.30am. Police quickly identified the front and rear plates had been altered with wooden characters affixed.
Enquiries revealed the driver was disqualified and his car had been unregistered and uninsured since September last year.
The 47-year-old from Stockport, was reported for driving disqualified, unregistered and uninsured and drive with unassigned plates.

Hoon rider arrested after racing through northern suburbs, South Australia
A man has been arrested after he was caught riding a motorcycle at dangerous speeds in the northern suburbs on the weekend.
Police will allege that about 11am on Saturday 23 January, a patrol spotted the Suzuki motorcycle on Main North Road at Salisbury Heights, travelling at speeds in excess of 200km/h.
The police helicopter was nearby, and it was called to the area to safely monitor the bike as it continued to weave through traffic and drive through numerous red lights, including one at The Grove Way.
