It is impossible to discern whether Randle McMurphy â the filmâs protagonist â is melancholic, amused, or furious at any given moment. Even as a delighted McMurphy galvanizes his fellow residents to rebel against the institutionâs tedious rules, there exists a deeper, more opaque emotion underneath his ecstatic exterior.

Every year since 1983, Janet Ellison has made a gingerbread house or themed cookie house for the holidays, and this year s theme honored Alomere Health.
“It’s been a fun tradition for her, and (she) gets help from her grandkids each year,” her daughter, Pam Ellison, said.
Janet’s grandchildren helped until they grew up and moved out. Her youngest grandchild is now 21.
A few of her previous cookie house creations have been inspired by local spectacles, such as Noonan’s Park, the Runestone Museum and now Alomere.

I’m not a regular reader of “Southern Living” magazine save the occasional recipe for shrimp and grits if I’m feeling homesick and I don’t believe I’ve ever picked up an issue of “Garden & Gun.” But the magazine pieces that make up Rick Bragg’s latest book make me want to buy a subscription.
Where I Come From: Stories from the Deep South is a collection of personal columns by the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author, who is probably best known for his memoir,
All Over but the Shoutin’. Bragg grew up dirt poor among the ridgelines of northeastern Alabama, and his love for the place shines through in this collection, which sparkles with the wit and tenderness of a Pat Conroy novel.
Is that why you’re such a seafood champion? Our family farm was out of Masterton, an hour and a bit away from Castlepoint. Have you been there? I lost the exhaust pipe on my Triumph Spitfire there the very first weekend I had it – about a hundred years ago. Well, Castlepoint hasn’t changed. There are still beautiful baches along the waterfront, and the campground’s still there. We had an old caravan and a tinny, and we’d go for two weeks a year. Everything revolved around low tide. We’d go over to Mataikona and the fathers would swim out to get crayfish.

After all, Rock has been working on perfecting his craft since at least 1989 when he co-produced “Mood For Love” for his cousin and late rap icon Heavy D.
As Rock continued on his journey to musical greatness, he had the opportunity to play a few beats for Sean “Diddy” Combs and one of those beats wound up being the blueprint for The Notorious B.I.G. single “Juicy,” a bona fide Hip Hop classic. Produced by Diddy and Poke of the Trackmasters, the song uses a sample of Mtume’s 1983 track, “Juicy Fruit” and features an alternative chorus sung by Total and Diddy himself.
