CMPD: Speed a factor in fiery fatal motorcycle crash in east Charlotte WSOCTV.com News Staff

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said speed played a role in a deadly motorcycle crash in east Charlotte Thursday evening.
Officers responded around 6 p.m. to the scene on Albemarle Road near Nathanael Greene Lane. When they arrived, they found a Kawasaki motorcycle that was on fire and a GMC pickup truck with some damage to its back.
Channel 9 crews could see the motorcycle on its side in the roadway and the pickup truck nearby.
According to CMPD, the motorcycle was speeding down Albemarle Road and as it got closer to Nathanael Greene Lane, it collided with the back of the truck, which was turning onto Albemarle Road.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two people were rescued from a house fire in northeast Charlotte Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 5 a.m. at a home on Branch Hill Circle off Old Concord Road, closing the road for a time. Officials say two people were rescued from the home and taken to Atrium Main with serious injuries. Four adults and three dogs were displaced in total.
