A teenager, whose six siblings are currently in the care of the state, has been remanded in detention after appearing at a special court sitting in Longford this afternoon );

A 17-year-old Longford teenager whose six siblings were taken into care last month, has been remanded detention on foot of alleged knife possession and assaulting his ex fiancee while she lay asleep on a couch.
The teen, who does not turn 18 until August, was brought before a special sitting of Longford District Court this afternoon.
