Originally scheduled for the canceled festival of 2020, the Salute to Ghana will be postponed yet another year, until 2022, officials said Friday. The news is the latest announcement in what has become a fractured Memphis in May. A pandemic-rejiggered and socially distanced World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest remains set for May 12-15 in Tom Lee Park, but the festival s other major event, the Beale Street Music Festival, will skip another year, to return in 2022.
