Well-wishers turned out in cold and icy weather to salute Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputy Camron Gentry as he left Reston Hospital Center on Saturday, recovering from his shooting more than a month ago.
“The reception was just outstanding, it was just a crowd of people that were at the hospital, coming out in this bad weather…there must have been hundreds of people out there, it was just wonderful to see so much support,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman.

Memphis In May s international Salute to Ghana, slated for May 2021 has been postponed to May 2022. Each year the honored country salute is designed to bring people and cultures from around the world together in Memphis for a mutually enriching and educational experience.
Mounting such an event in May 2021 would present numerous difficulties, as international travel has been severely reduced, visa processing halted since March, and a host of other COVID-19 concerns, according to a Memphis In May news release.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - In response to the ongoing pandemic, Memphis In May International Festival will reschedule its salute to Ghana to next year.
Memphis in May was originally planned to honor Ghana on May 20, 2020 but then the pandemic hit.
Given the challenges that COVID-19 still means for international travel, the Memphis in May board moved the Ghana salute to May 2021.
“It is our desire to present a salute that embodies and fully captures the phenomenal culture and historical significance of Ghana. It is still our desire to share the essence of Ghana with Memphians.
