A Coast man caused more than $2000 in damage when he shattered a police car window by kicking it, a court has heard.
Steven John Madden abused police who had come to his Crohamhurst address for a welfare check and later caused $2612 in damage to their car.
Police prosecutor Stephen Potter said Madden had said he didnât like police and became increasingly aggressive once put in the caged area of the car to be taken to hospital.
â(Madden) ⦠continued to yell abuse at police and kicked his legs out inside the caged walls,â he said.
âAs police were driving west on Roys Road, Beerwah, the rear window of the police vehicle has shattered due to ⦠(Madden) continuing to kick the rear perspex window inside the caged vehicle and coming in contact with the rear window.â
