Mining threatens the Pilbara cultural landscape
Guidance from First Nations peoples is essential.

Just as the parliamentary inquiry into Rio Tinto’s destruction of the Juukan Gorge rock shelters was reconvening in Canberra, another culturally significant site was damaged at one of BHP’s iron ore mines in the Pilbara.
This latest rock shelter, a registered site for the Banjima peoples, was reportedly damaged by a rockfall in late January. BHP said the site was not part of its current mining operations and the cause of the rockfall was not known.
An Aucklander who spent six minutes at a store where a Covid-19 case was working had to wait nearly eight hours on the phone to get advice from Healthline.
Even if this item isn t correct in every detail it illustrates cracks in the Covid management policy widening. Are front-line workers being properly paid and rested? Are investigators really on top of their job keeping up with the urgency needed, that was shown earlier on? NZ can t afford to be complacent. Recently one student was phoned a number of times without success, and a visit to the house wasn t made. In the meantime the virus was being spread.

I think it is a desperate attempt by Robertson to try and set up the RBNZ as the people who cop the blame for the shambles that this Government has been making of the housing market for the last three and a half years.
I suspect it will backfire on him (Robertson). Orr is far to smart to allow Robertson to get away with such a transparent attempt to pass the parcel.
Orr is quite likely to take it as an invitation to tell Robertson, publicly, what he thinks will be required to fix the housing situation. Nothing he proposes will be something the the RBNZ can do. Everything will be something that requires fiscal action by Robertson himself. It will be on the basis of If you don t do this it will get worse . What he will suggest is very unlikely to be acceptable to the Government but Orr can then continue in the future to propose that if the Government had only followed our advice…… etc .
“It is important to be transparent, to call something a thing and to act quickly and decisively. I think that’s something that most leaders are comfortable with when it comes to driving sales, revenue, controls and things like that. But when it comes to people and culture, or social issues, a little more hesitation often emerges – about how forward, how loud, how bold we need to be, how quickly we need to respond to certain things. We are now in a time when quick and decisive action is gaining positive reinforcement. Inertia has brought us to where we are. As we start to embrace this momentum […..] change is coming. “
Order Up! Twin Falls Mom Of 4 Serving Up Legit Mex, U.S. Classics
If you haven t noticed the red, eye-catching, mobile eatery with the flaming pepper logo on its side, odds are you ll be seeing it in Twin Falls soon. I ve passed by it, along with the dozens of people I ve seen anxiously awaiting orders, the last couple of afternoons on the corner of 6th Avenue West.
Sarah s Hangry Hut, which is the passion of former truck driver and Twin Falls mother of four, Sarah Holcomb, has been attracting hungry Magic Valley residents all week. Holcomb, 34, moved on recently from her former, 60-hour-a-week job of hauling milk back and forth from area dairy farms, to grilling up authentic family recipes.
