Dr. Sarah Bernier, ER doctor and specialist in emergency medicine, said the new ED will provide greater patient privacy along with more room. “In this new ED, we will continue to provide exceptional care but we’ll also provide the patient and their visitors with the privacy they deserve in a new environment with space for the staff to work. We’ll provide more efficient, streamlined care - and to more people, which is wonderful.”
She said many ED patients in the past spent their entire visit in a bed in a hallway with no privacy. “With the new ED and a vast number of new beds, they will have privacy, and comfort. Their visitors will be able to be with them in a comfortable private setting. People deserve privacy when they come to the Emergency Dept. no matter what they’re there for.”
