The search continued on Wednesday for an exotic wild animal on the loose after a suspected sighting in a Dubai suburb a day earlier.
Dubai Police officers used drones to scan the Springs neighbourhood, south of Dubai Marina, after apparent sightings by residents of a large black cat .
Authorities advised members of the community to exercise caution around what was believed to be a wild cat and to call 999 if they spot it.

IMMAF creates athlete influencer panel to educate on social media use Wednesday, 19 May 2021
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has created an athlete influencer panel to educate youngsters about social media use.
It is hoped the idea will help create a positive space online and prevent the opportunity for harm.
Members have been appointed in the build-up to this year s IMMAF Youth MMA World Championships in Sofia, which will see athletes aged between 12 and 17 compete from July 30 to August 1.
The panel also coincides with the IMMAF expanding its social media presence by joining video platform TikTok.
Andreas Georgiou, the IMMAF s social media manager, will chair the panel which will help athletes with guidance, creative ideas, content and support sessions.

Police and municipal officials were looking into claims of an ‘exotic black cat’ that was spotted in a residential neighbourhood in Dubai on Tuesday.
A video of the sighting, said to be in The Springs 3 area, was shared on the community’s dedicated Facebook page.
Officials were out in force, but said they had found nothing as of Tuesday evening.

At about 4pm, a security guard from the neighbourhood said a team from the municipality welfare department had been sent to the area to locate the animal, but after an hours-long search nothing was found.
