Picture: SUPPLIED The Fiji Red Cross Society and Sai Prema Foundation Fiji signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in order to achieve the vision, goals and objectives the two organisations share. The broad vision of formalising this partnership is to develop greater cooperation, understanding, strategic alliance, and partnership with the goal of serving and making a difference to the underprivileged and needy people of Fiji through a number of projects and initiatives. The agreement is focussed primarily on four common areas whereby Sai Prema Foundation and the Fiji Red Cross will collaborate to create greater awareness about the symptoms of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and the treatments available at the soon-to-be-opened Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital in Fiji.

Picture: Supplied THE Sai Prema Foundation (SPF) completed a successful week-long awareness campaign highlighting the impact of congenital heart disease (CHD) and the important role of early diagnosis and treatment in the form of surgical intervention. Speaking on the commemoration of the Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital Fiji last Thursday, medical director Dr Krupali Tappoo said their foundation’s aim was to work towards improving care for congenital heart disease patients with the new hospital.
