Nashville-based HNP Properties is the landlord. Bill Hostettler, who is affiliated with HNP, said the lease with Athens is being dissolved by agreement. In addition, a small retail building (formerly a motel) that sits at 2528 Eighth will see its five month-to-month tenants vacate within 90 days, Hostettler told the
Post.
Hostettler, known for his development of various Davidson County sites with residential buildings via HND Realty LLC, said he plans a retail building on the two-parcel site. Nashville-based MJM Architects is handling design of the future building (click on View Gallery in the above photo to see renderings).
News Channel 2 reports Athens owner Mohammaed Rasras is searching for a new location for the business. The original owners of the restaurant include Dina Kasakos-Elostta, who subleases to Rasras.

The classic diner known for making Nashvillians feel better every morning for the more than 16 years has lost its lease.
Athens is the kind of reliable diner bigger cities have at major intersections all over town. Over the years, it won the hearts of locals, as well as celebrity Guy Fieri, who featured its lamb burger on his
