Marion Judge Jason Warner seeks release from prison during appeal Twelve days after being sentenced to two years in prison, Marion Judge Jason Warner has asked to be released pending an appeal of his conviction. According to online court records, Warner filed a motion on April 26 signaling to the court he will appeal the sentencing from visiting Judge Patricia Cosgrove, former Summit County Common Pleas Judge who was appointed for this trial after retiring in 2011. Previously on April 14, Jason Warner and his wife, Julia, were both found guilty on one count each of complicity to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and complicity in failure to stop after an accident, a fourth-degree felony. They received a concurrent two-year prison sentence for these felonies. According to the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, they are expected to be released on April 8, 2023, but they can apply for judicial release after six months.
