A devastated pet owner is warning others to be alert after her cat had to be put to sleep after getting shot in the eye.
Michala Cooper, 42, from Folwell Road in Costessey, and her two children are heartbroken after their three-year-old cat Salem came home on Friday, May 28, badly injured, following three days missing.

The Conservatives Stephen Mold has been elected Northamptonshire s Police and Crime Commissioner for a second term.
Stephen Mold has been elected for a second term as Northamptonshire’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
At the election count today (Monday 10 May), Stephen beat three candidates to be returned as Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for a further three years.
The position, which aims to ensure the policing needs of the county are met as effectively as possible, has been held by Mr Mold since 2016. His first term lasted one year longer than usual after the election last year waas postponed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
MONTREAL After Monday’s dismantling of Montreal s second tent city organized within a year, Mayor Valerie Plante was clear her administration will not allow such encampments. “The plan is that we want to bring people under a roof,” Plante said at a news conference Thursday. “That’s always been our intention.” Montreal has surpassed its goal of creating 950 housing units for the homeless, the mayor said to be exact, her administration has developed 1,089 units. “This is where the help can start, the real work.. to have a long-term roof,” Plante said. But opposition party Ensemble Montreal said the city s steps so far might not be enough to stop more tent cities from springing up. They said Plante needs to do more.
