Cron reached first base without a throw for an infield single, while Kelly tripped trying to field the ball. After conferring with a team trainer and Dave Roberts, Kelly threw a few warm-up pitches and remained in the game. Kelly got the final three outs in short order, needing only six pitches to induce two groundouts, with a strikeout of Sam Hilliard sandwiched in between. After the final play, Kelly was seen grimacing on the mound and during the postgame celebration.
