The remains of the former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and ex-acting governor of the state, Hon. Sam Obi, were yesterday committed to mother earth at Ute-Okpu, his hometown in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the funeral for the late Sam Obi, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa expressed sadness at the death of the politician and founder of Oracle of God Christian ministry, describing former Delta House speaker as a focused and courageous man who contributed immensely to development of the state.
The governor, however, said that it was a thing of joy that the deceased had laudable records of achievement in addition to being a Christian minister.

Earlier in the day, the news of the death of Yinka Odumakin, Vanguard columnist and Afenifere spokesman and Sam Obi, former acting governor of Delta State had broken. Ekene himself is bereaved; he lost his mother a few weeks ago. And while we were together, I went to my Facebook page and behold the news of the death of Chief DolorIhwughwavwe, the owner of the funeral home which handled my father-in-law’s burial in February last year.
Facebook has become a harbinger of the news of death. I now approach my Facebook page with caution. On March 16, I was just scrolling through my Facebook page when the news jumped out. “SegunOdubela, SAN, is dead.” I dug further, it was the same Olusegun John Odubela. He was our family friend. Oil Market: Global demand to grow by 6 mb/d in 2021 ― OPEC

Despite the prolonged Coronavirus pandemic, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has predicted that the global demand will increase by six million barrels per day, mb/d in 2021.
Speaking at the International Monetary and Financial Committee Meeting, April 8, 2021, via videoconference, monitored by Vanguard, Secretary-General, Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Dr. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, said: “The global economy and, consequently, the global oil market is slowly emerging from one of the most severe crises in recent history, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In 2020, countries around the world virtually shut down, imposed travel restrictions, and mandated social-distancing measures. These measures are still necessary for some regions to combat new waves of infections and virus mutations, with a recovery to pre-pandemic levels
