Oxford University admits record number of ethnic minority students

Figures just released by the admissions body UCAS show that in 2020 the university admitted a record number of 684 BAME students – nearly 24 per cent of the UK intake and up from 22 per cent the year before. Within that, the number of black students was 106 – up from 80 the previous year. Black students represented 3.7 per cent of the intake, up from 3.2 per cent the previous year.

Students from state schools received 68.7% of all the offers at Oxford this year, compared with 69.1%  last year, according to the data.
