Oxford University is making good progress towards its aim of admitting more state school and ethnic minority students.
Figures just released by the admissions body UCAS show that in 2020 the university admitted a record number of 684 BAME students – nearly 24 per cent of the UK intake and up from 22 per cent the year before.
Within that, the number of black students was 106 – up from 80 the previous year. Black students represented 3.7 per cent of the intake, up from 3.2 per cent the previous year.
