Why is the County of Maui continuing to delay the start of the Senior Softball League? We appreciate the county starting league play for our youth, including hosting the U.S. Club Soccer Hawaii State Cup last week, but it is equally important to keep our kupuna active with league play.
Senior Softball League play provides significant health benefits that keep our minds active and improve our body flexibility and hand-eye coordination. It also serves as an outlet for stress caused by the pandemic and gives participants a chance to get out and meet new people and to catch up with longtime friends.

Gaspar tapped to fill role left vacant by death of Dierker
Monett City Council Commissioners have appointed a third member to fill the vacancy left by the unexpected death of former commissioner Jerry Dierker on March 20.
Ken Gaspar was appointed to fill the position on Thursday, with his official duties as a commissioner beginning Monday.
