SAN ANTONIO – Santa is making a list and checking it twice, but he’ll only really have treats for pets in shelters in San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Humane Society, the fifth annual “Holiday dinner by the Ranch,” is meant to spread holiday cheer to pets in the shelter.
The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 at the San Antonio Humane Society, 4804 Fredericksburg Road, and features pets ready to find their forever homes.

Veterinarians also noted injuries consistent with being hit by a car.
Fortunately, the 9-month-old retriever, who has been dubbed “Tammi,” is well on her way to recovery. The Humane Society is searching for a home for her, and they’re hopeful she’ll have a new forever family in time for the holidays.
“Tammi needs a fun-loving and caring home,” Dr. Traci Gilbert, SAHS associate veterinarian, said in a statement on Facebook. “Considering everything she went through, she is such a sweet girl. She is young and a bit shy, but I am sure she would love an active family once she gets her strength back.”

SAN ANTONIO – Tammi, a 9-month-old Retriever, has been through a lot in her short life.
When she arrived at the San Antonio Humane Society in November, veterinarians discovered 70 shotgun pellets in her body and injuries consistent with being struck by a car.
After a surgery and a month of recovery, the shelter is seeking a forever home for Tammi as the holidays approach.
“Tammi needs a fun-loving and caring home,” SAHS Associate Veterinarian Dr. Traci Gilbert said. “Considering everything she went through, she is such a sweet girl. She is young and a bit shy, but I am sure she would love an active family once she gets her strength back.”
