Just before 2:40 p.m. Wednesday first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the 22000 block of Rodeffer Place, just south of Copper Hill Drive in Saugus, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “It came in as a person being hit by a vehicle,” Lopez said. Public Health Provides Updates On COVID-19 Variants In L.A. County Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH) officials provided updates on vaccine efforts and COVID-19 variants across the county Wednesday. To date, LADPH officials have identified 920 coronavirus cases that can be attributed to variants of COVID-19, according to Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer. An additional 648 COVID-19 cases and 40 deaths were reported across L.A. County Wednesday, according to officials. This brings the county’s cumulative total to 1,219,562 positive cases of COVID-19 and 23,143 deaths since the onset of the pandemic, according to the LADPH officials. Testing results are available for over 6,092,000 people, with a cumulative 19 percent of people testing positive, according to officials.
