Sulphur Springs School District Board Opposes Controversial Sand Canyon Hotel, Resort Project The Sulphur Springs Union School District Board of Trustees objected to the construction of the Sand Canyon Hotel and Resort in the Sand Canyon neighborhood of Santa Clarita last Wednesday. On June 23, the Sulphur Springs Union School District Board of Trustees approved a resolution opposing the construction of the Sand Canyon Hotel and Resort, aligning itself with many disgruntled residents of the area, according to the Sand Canyon Homeowners Association (SCHOA). “We’re delighted that the school district is doing that because they’re very credible,” said SCHOA Board President Ruthann Levison. “Of course they have a big concern because of how traffic on Lost Canyon could affect kids.”
