Packaging Substrate / Materials: Metal, Cardboard This design was created for a small bakery in my hometown. Gabriela’s is a traditional bakery with a Romanian twist, inspired by the owner’s home country. These traditions played a role in the patterns, colors, and overall look of the truck and its assets. This truck displays a refined floral pattern which creates an elegant backdrop for the background of wedding photos or large catering events. The design was inspired by pysanky eggs, a traditional Easter decoration of Romania.
These eggs are carefully hand-decorated through a wax-batik process, which takes time and skill to master. This decorative process relates to the care and time Gabriela takes in decorating her desserts, which is why it is reflected in the pattern on the food truck. The menu board and other assets play off of this decorative process as well, with the wording reflecting the dot-ended swirls and floral patterns on the truck. These details create cohes

Printing Process: Digital Printing Chicago Dough has been making gourmet Chicago-style pizza since 1976. Operating in the Chicagoland area for over 40 years, the three locations are Richton Park, Bourbonnais, and New Lenox. Chicago Dough provides a variety of pizza styles and takes pride in using choice ingredients made to strict requirements.
The types of Chicago-style pizza offered are thin crust, double crust, deep dish, plus traditional stuffed and Calabrese pizzas. Although the full menu includes a wide range of other food items, the food truck menu was condensed to pizza, chicken wings, salad, and soft drinks to expedite the serving process. Aside from being my favorite restaurant, I chose to re-brand Chicago Dough because they are constantly getting involved and offering support to the community. This project was my chance to give back to them.

Printing Process: Digital Printing Kunkel’s Drive-In is one of the few drive-in diners still in operation in the United States. Located in Connersville Indiana, it has been operating since 1954 and continues to serve the town’s residents quick and delicious meals. Its menu items can be compared to that of fast food, along with a few locally, handmade options including pies and ice cream malts. The restaurant is a cultural landmark of the town, as it has hosted car shows since its opening years in the 1950s. Both locals and tourists compete, bringing in a wide variety of car makes and models. Most of the vehicles entered are vintage racing and show cars.
