Statewide there were 10 deaths and 805 new cases of COVID reported Sunday. In this region there were 54 new cases, with 11 reported in Kandiyohi County.
There were three deaths and 882 new cases of COVID reported Saturday in Minnesota. Counties in west central Minnesota reported 45 new cases but no COVID-related deaths.

Fire
HUTCHINSON Emergency services responded to a house fire in Meeker County, according to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze.
Fire Damages Meeker County Home Thursday
ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP Meeker County authorities believe boxes on a stovetop are the cause of a house fire in rural Litchfield Thursday morning.
Sheriff s deputies and Litchfield fire crews were called to a home in the 20000 block of 654th Avenue in Ellsworth Township around 8:30 a.m.
The homeowners,
Andrew and
Hillary Pautzke, have a secondary kitchen in the lower level with an unused stove. Sheriff s officials say it s believed a small child turned on the stovetop which caused the boxes to catch fire.
The fire was contained to the stove and the cabinets above it.
West central Minnesota reports 76 new cases of COVID-19
There were nine deaths and 1,306 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday in the state. In the 11-county area of west central Minnesota, there were 76 new cases reported, while the percentage of county residents being vaccinated continues to inch up. 11:39 am, May 14, 2021 ×

WILLMAR There were 76 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday in the region, but no new deaths.
Statewide there were nine COVID-related deaths and 1,306 new cases
Stearns County reported 42 new cases Friday and Kandiyohi County had 15.
The other area counties had single-digit increases in newly reported cases. Meeker County reported six new cases, Renville County had five, Redwood County had three, Chippewa and Pope counties each had two cases and Lac qui Parle County had one.
