Joanne Westerhouse, the powerhouse who began the
Sandwich Arts Alliance and led it to amazing growth. Westerhouse recently sold her Sandwich home and is relocating to the North Shore. But with Zoom, phones and the internet, she ll still remain active as a board member and development coordinator for the organization. The Sandwich Arts Alliance began six years ago, back when we were all going to meetings to talk about the future of both the Wing School and the Clark Haddad Building, she tells Snyder s Sandwich. Town officials would ask gatherings about how to use the buildings. Although many good suggestions were made, the town officials kept asking. It occurred to me that maybe they were asking if there was a group that would find uses, manage events, etc., and that made me realize that there was no voice for the arts in Sandwich. Good things had happened over the years in theater, concerts, events, but no groups

The Sandwich Arts Alliance will present ‘Art-O-Rama’ as their annual Holly Days event for 2020, which will feature the works of many talented Alliance members and artists.
The event will run from November 19, through the month of December, at the SAA Center and Gallery, 124 Route 6A, Sandwich, and online at sandwichartsalliance.org.
Artwork for sale will include small hanging art, fabric art, jewelry, holiday cards and many other gift items. All work will be on display for viewing and for sale Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Center. State mandated COVID 19 regulations will be in place, including social distancing and crowd limits. Mask wearing in the Center is required.
