Five Green Bay residents have filed a formal complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission about the way that the city ran its November election.
The group is headed by Republican Party of Brown County chairman James Fitzgerald. Other members are Richard Carlstedt, Sandra Duckett, Thomas Sladek, and Lark Wartenberg.
The complaint alleges state and federal laws were violated, and their attorney says only the state Legislature can change the legal conditions for a federal election.
Thousands of city emails accessed through an open records request reportedly provided new key information.
The city has 15 days to respond.
