Delhi Police intensifies drive after city sees surge in cases In the wake of surge in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi police have intensified drive against people flouting social distancing norms. They had launched a two-day special drive (on Saturday and Sunday) to crackdown on those violating COVID norms. The officers on Sunday said they have fined more 173 establishments for the same. Out of these, 13 were banquet halls owners, 58 restaurant owners and three night club owners, they added. The drive, in which people were also fined for not wearing masks and spitting in public areas, was conducted in places with high footfall, including markets on Friday and Saturday.

The victims of the fraud namely Gurmanak Sahni and Jagrit Sahni are businessmen residing in New Friends Colony in the national capital. As per the FIR details given by Gurumanak, Rajesh Ambwani along with Saloni Singh, falsely induced him to open a trading account with M/s Edelweiss Broking Ltd. The accused then hatched a plan to misuse and cheat Gurumanak with the capital amount of Rs 25 lakhs deposited in the said trading account.

Dance teacher accused of harassing woman in judicial custody ANI | Updated: Dec 18, 2020 19:58 IST New Delhi [India], December 18 (ANI): A 23-year-old woman enrolled in a dance training academy in the Chanakya Puri area has filed a harassment complaint against her dance teacher, Delhi Police said on Friday. A case has been registered on the basis of the statement of the woman under sections 354, 354A and 509 of Indian Penal Code against the 52-year-old accused at Chanakya Puri police station. Police stated that the accused is currently in judicial custody. The woman and her mother had lodged the complaint on December 14. The statements of other students are also being recorded, Police stated. Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
